I am a researcher in forest and resource economics (PhD, NMBU 2015), with a background in forestry, economics and international environmental studies. My research focus is on climate-smart and sustainable forest management. Currently, I am leading an interdisciplinary NFR project ClimateSmartForest, with a budget of 15 million NOK, and in 2024 I was awarded a Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) research grant. My research and publications cover both the natural science and social science aspects of climate change related to forests and forestry. In recent years, I have represented NMBU as an observer at the UN climate conferences COP25, COP27, and COP28.
