Learning outcome
Knowledge:
- Have knowledge of the most important infectious and production-related diseases in Norwegian salmon farming, be able to classify the most important infectious diseases, know the aetiology of the various infections, explain how the farming industry can prevent the occurrence of these diseases, including vaccination and biosecurity, as well as understand the underlying conditions which give rise to the most important production-related diseases
-Understand and explain the interaction between stress, good health and welfare in farmed fish and the importance of these interactions for sustainable farming
Skills:
- Can use the knowledge they acquire to find and refer to relevant literature, be able to update their knowledge of innovations in their field
-Can present, exchange and explain their views on current challenges within the subject area
General competence:
- Have insight into relevant professional issues relating to the health and welfare of farmed fish, how diseases are diagnosed and treated, as well as general principles for the prevention of and control of the various diseases
