    Siri Fjellheim has been the current rector at NMBU since 2023, but she has worked at NMBU since 2000. She is a professor of plant biology and still has an active research group studying the evolution of climate adaptation in plants. Siri has extensive academic experience at NMBU, having worked as a fellow, postdoc, researcher, associate professor, and professor. Over the years, she has been involved in developing both high-quality research and teaching. Siri has been named the semester's best lecturer and has been awarded the Olav Thon Prize for Outstanding Teaching in Mathematical and Natural Sciences. Siri is also someone who willingly takes on tasks for the community, and she has extensive academic, strategic, and administrative leadership experience, having served as research leader, section leader, department head, prorector for research and innovation, and rector. Siri is committed to developing herself as a leader and has completed both a research leadership course at the University of Oslo (UiO) and the dean’s school at the Norwegian Association of Higher Education Institutions (UHR).

  • Prorector Candidate for Education Hilde Vinje

    Hilde Vinje is an associate professor in Biostatistics and Head of Study at the Faculty of Chemistry, Biotechnology, and Food Science at NMBU. She has a teacher’s degree in natural sciences, with a master’s in applied mathematics and a PhD in Bioinformatics. From 2018 to 2022, she led the program council for the study program in Bioinformatics and applied statistics before becoming the Head of Study in 2022. In addition, Hilde served as a temporary representative on the University Board for two years, gaining valuable insight into board work at the university level. Today, she is the first alternate for representatives of the academic staff. Hilde leads the biostatistics advisory service, which she has also helped to develop. This service provides support in data analysis across the fields of life, natural, and biological sciences and is available to all staff and students at NMBU. Hilde is deeply engaged in education and teaching, which is reflected both in her academic background and her administrative roles. In 2021, she completed the Educational Leadership Program (ULP) at the University of Oslo. She has extensive experience at NMBU, a broad understanding of the organization, and is passionate about quality education and teaching. She wants the best for NMBU and everyone who works and studies there. Hilde is committed to promoting a culture where people are encouraged to try new ideas, especially in education. This is crucial for preparing for the future!

  • Prorector Candidate for Research and Innovation Finn Arne Weltzien

    Finn Weltzien is the current prorector for research and innovation since January 2022 and has worked at NMBU since 2008. He is a professor in veterinary medical physiology and, before becoming prorector, led an active research group studying puberty in fish. Finn has also accumulated extensive and broad academic, strategic, and administrative leadership experience in roles such as research leader at the faculty and centrally for a total of 13 years, in addition to being a section leader, department head, and local union representative (FF). He has formal leadership training through UiO's Research Leadership Program (2016) and UHR's Dean School (2022/23). This experience has given him a broad understanding of the research process and what is required to produce high-quality research, both academically and through various support functions.
