As an NMBU alum, you are welcomed into a professional community focusing on knowledge sharing, exchange of experiences, and skills enhancement.

In the past and future, NMBU's research and education have led to knowledge and life-changing outcomes. As a bearer and steward of this knowledge, you are a crucial resource, not only for NMBU but also for the society around you. Never before has knowledge about the environment, economy, sustainable development, improved public and animal health, climate challenges, renewable energy sources, food production, and land and resource management been more vital. The world has never been in such rapid change, increasing the need for continuous professional updates and collaboration across disciplines.

In Norway, NMBU alumni can be found throughout the country, in numerous industries, organizations, and public institutions. Internationally, NMBU's alumni are also strongly represented. Through their affiliation and history at NMBU, our alumni carry a common identity. This identity is built on a long history of important decisions, inventions, discoveries, creativity, and a strong and vibrant student community where networks have been built, and lifelong friendships have been formed. As an NMBU alum, you are part of this history—a part of the community.

NMBU's history

NMBU's history dates back to 1859 with the establishment of "Den høiere Landbrugsskole paa Aas" and the founding of the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science (NVH) in 1935. In 2014, these two historically significant institutions merged to become today's NMBU.
