  • Agreement

    The university offers exchange stays in areas such as Biology, Agriculture, Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Computer and IT studies and Business and Finance.

    The agreement applies to most subject areas, and subjects from different disciplines/subject areas can be freely combined.

  • Tuition fees

    AUD $12 600 (2023) per semester

  • Who can apply

    The university requires a minimum C average.

    All exchanges require a completion of 60ECTS prior to a stay abroad.

  • Language of Instruction

    4 in English from videregående (must not be older than 5 years), or

    • TOEFL (internet based): minimum overall score of 85, a minimum reading score 17 and minimum writing score 19
    • IELTS 6.5 (none under 6.0)

  • Semester Timing

    Semester 1: ca. 20. February - 20. June(2023)

    Semester 2: ca. 31. July - 25. November (2023)
    The week before commencement is an introduction week.

  • Recognition of credits

    It is required that you register for 4 units per semester, each unit is 6 credit points (usually) and full-time studies are 24 credit points.

  • Application deadline

    The deadline for applying to the University of Sydney is 30 October for semester 1.

    The deadline for applying to the University of Sydney is 30 March for semester 2.

  • Visa

    Anyone who is going to study longer than three months in Australia must have a valid student visa (Subclass 500 - Student visa). Once you have received Confirmation of Enrollment (CoE) from the host university, you can apply for a visa electronically and you will receive a response within 1 to 3 weeks but can be longer.

    As of July 2024, visa application costs have increased greatly to AUD 1600.

  • Health Insurance

    In addition, it is a requirement that students have Overses Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the entire period in Australia. This health insurance costs (2022) AUD$330 for 1 semester and AUD$609. Other health insurances are not accepted.
