University of Helsinki
About the study place
Helsinki is a modern and cultural city where urban lifestyle lives in harmony with nature. The city has around 620.000 inhabitants and has been the country's capital since 1809. NMBU has agreements with the faculties of Agriculture and Forestry and Veterinary Medicine. Both faculties are located in Viikki campus, one out of four university campuses.
The agreement covers courses at the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry (B-SKOG, M-SKOG), Faculty of Biological & Environmental Sciences (Urban Planning) this is for NMBU students studying M-LA, M-GLA and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine* (VET).
It is however also possible to take courses at some other faculties. Please note: exchange students are required to choose the majority of their courses from one faculty, closest to their educational background. Exchange students need to have sufficient prior academic background in the disciplines taught at the receiving Faculty. Within one faculty, they can choose courses from several study programmes. One of the study programmes will be chosen as the host study programme for the student. Students are welcome to choose some courses from other faculties, as well, if they meet the requirements for the courses. Please note that some faculties/study programmes offer courses in English
mainly on Master’s level (suitable for advanced Bachelor students as well)* The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is the only place in Finland which offers veterinary education. Subjects here are mostly only given in Finnish, but it is possible for foreign students to apply for a clinical work experience, for which supervision can be given in English.
For all Erasmus and agreements it is necessary to have attained 60 credits on your current NMBU program before commencing on an exchange study abroad.
Two places for one year each.
Finnish and Swedish, but English is also widespread, particularly at master’s level.
Erasmus students must continue to pay for NMBU’s semester fees, plus register with NMBU whilst they are on exchange. However, it is not necessary to pay any types of fee at the partner university.
