Georg August University is located in the student city of Göttingen with around 130,000 inhabitants, in the middle of Germany. In this city, 20% of the inhabitants are students and approx. 2,500 of these are international. The city is known for the Georg August University, which was founded in 1737. Among others, the Grimm brothers, Wilhelm Weber and Otto von Bismarck have been students here. The university has a strong focus on research and profiles itself with the words "tradition, innovation and self-governance".

    Length of stay

    1 - 2 semester.

  • All Erasmus+ agreements require the completion of 60ECTS prior to a stay abroad begins.

  • German and English. Bachelor students must document B2 in German and a minimum of B2 in English. Master students must have minimum C1 in English, but it is recommended that they also have a minimum of B1 in German. 

  • Autumn semester: September- February.

    Spring semester: April- July.

  • Erasmus students must continue to pay for NMBU’s semester fees, plus register with NMBU whilst they are on exchange. However, it is not necessary to pay any types of fee at the partner university
