Biography
Anne Sverdrup-Thygeson is a professor of conservation biology at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). She is particularly focused on the anonymous biodiversity, such as insects and fungi - species we rarely see and do not think about, but which are nevertheless crucially important for processes in nature and thus for us humans.
She researches biodiversity, ecosystem services, insects, forests, and the nature crisis. Much of her research deals with how we affect forest biodiversity and thereby also the ecosystem services that forests provide us.
She has written six books about insects and nature. The books have been translated into more than 25 languages and are sold in bookstores worldwide.
