ERC-projects at NMBU
Several outstanding researchers at NMBU have received grants from the European Research Council (ERC).
ERC grants are considered one of the most prestigious awards a researcher can receive.
Basic research on microorganisms
ERC Consolidator Grant
Magnus Øverlie Arntzen will study the properties of a unique set of microbial enzymes. The knowledge can become a key to solving a wide range of challenges such as waste decomposition, renewable energy, and food/feed production.
Coveted and prestigous grant to NMBU researcher
ERC Consolidator Grant
Tropical forest researcher, Aida Cuni-Sanchez is amongst the chosen few that is set to receive a substantial grant from the European Research Council (ERC).
New project to determine the causes of violent conflict and migration in the Sahel
ERC Advanced Grant
NMBU professor Tor A. Benjaminsen awarded ERC Advanced Grant for research in the conflict-stricken region.
The CuBE project
ERC Synergy Grant
The industry uses large resources to transform simple molecules with hydrogen and carbon into important raw materials for useful products, such as plastics and textiles. If Professor Vincent Eijsink and the CUBE research team manage to find catalysts that make the process easier, it could save the environment and resource use globally a great deal.
Completed ERC project:
Phillip Byron Pope, MicroDE – Interpreting the irrecoverable microbiota in digestive ecosystems
ERC Strating Grant – ID: 336355
