NMBU is co-hosting the IUFRO World Congress 2024 - - one of the world's largest meeting places for researchers and professionals in forest science.

IUFRO - International Union of Forest Research Organizations is an international network of researchers, which promotes global cooperation in forest-related research. The organisation's congresses are among the world's largest forest-related events.

The organisers expect close to 5,000 participants, including representatives from academia, government, industry, voluntary organizations and civil society, from all world regions.

IUFRO's world congresses are interdisciplinary. They are a forum for researchers and stakeholders to discuss technical and societal issues about forest-related research, policy-making and management. The World Congress is usually held every five years.

The theme for 2024 is "Forests and Society Towards 2050", and the conference will be arranged in Stockholm on 23-29. June, 2024.
