Glaciers are melting rapidly, disrupting water flows and affecting millions through floods, droughts, and rising sea levels.
Mitigating climate change and adapting to the loss of glaciers is essential to protect communities and ecosystems.
World Water Day 2025 focuses on glacier preservation, emphasizing the need for global action to manage meltwater sustainably and reduce emissions, securing vital water resources for the future.
Liss Marie Andreassen (NVE) and Danni Pearce (NMBU) will give introductions about glaciers and the need for global action.
The program is made by Helen French (NMBU) and Gunnhild Storbekkrønning Solli (NMBU)
Coffee, tea and snacks will be served.
The event is free and open to all.
Welcome!
