Libraries are all about sustainability, reuse, lending and community. But can we become even more sustainable?

The University Library has set a 'New Year's resolution' for 2025 to make 12 small and large steps to reduce consumption, food waste and, in our own way, contribute to a slightly more sustainable world.

Every month we launch a step for sustainability. Some involve only us at the library, others involve you. Stay tuned!

January: Bring your own cup

At all events in the library, we serve coffee and tea. Until now, we have had both cups and paper cups, but now we are ending the use of paper cups. We would rather do the dishes. You as an audience member are welcome to bring your own cup and fill it with whatever you want to drink.

Do you have a cup to spare?

Feel free to leave it here in the library for our loan cup selection. For the pleasure of you and others. It doesn't matter if the cup is old or strange.

Challenge us

Where do you think we should take action? Send us an email, or write your idea on the board in the library in the Veterinary Building.
