Frequently asked questions from international applicants

  • How do I apply for admission at NMBU?

You must apply for admission to NMBU through our application portal Søknadsweb. The admission process for international students is 15 October to 1 December.  Please click here for more detailed information on how to apply for studies at NMBU.

  • Where do I submit my documents?

To submit your documents, please log on to the application portal and choose «my documents» in the top menu.

  • Can you confirm that my application is received and that everything is correct?

There are many applicants who ask if we can check their application. Unfortunately, we don’t have the capacity to check individual applications outside of the evaluation process. It is every applicant’s responsibility to make sure that the application is sent within the deadline, and that the correct documentation accompanies the application.

  • How can I see if I have uploaded all my documents successfully?

If you click on «my documents» in the top menu, you should be able to see your uploaded documents. All documents that are visible to you in Søknadsweb are avaliable to us as well.

  • Can I be admitted if I do not have the required score on my language test?

No. Applicants with a lower overall score on their language test will not be admitted.

  • Do you offer any scholarships?

NMBU does not offer scholarships. Please contact the educational authorities or funding organizations in your home country in order to find out if you are eligible for other types of funding. Read more about financing here.

  • Are there any tuition fees?

The Norwegian Government decided to implement tuition fees for international students as of fall 2023.

For more information about tuition fees and rates for the academic year 2024/2025, please read here.

In addition, degree seeking students must pay a small semester fee. This fee goes to student benefits and services offered by the University Foundation for Student Life in Ås.
