About this course

The first iteration of this course is planned for the academic year 2025/2026, and builds in particular on the courses THT280 and THT291. The teaching is structured around seminars and case studies. A list of preliminary potential topics are:

  • Source separated wastewater: Rehabilitation and development of new sites
  • Waste from the aquaculture industry
  • Solid (organic) waste companies
  • Food processing industry
  • Use of organic polymers in water/wastewater treatment
  • Reuse potential of recovered materials, constraints (law and regulations/environment/health/economics)
  • Recent research approaches
  • Use of various software to assess sustainability, health, environmental impact and cost in the circular economy perspective
  • Oral (seminar) and written reporting
