About this course

Lectures: Juridical method, constitutional law, EEA law, huan rights, rethoric and civil proceedings. There will be emphasis on practical examples related to NMBU's academic areas. The course also include practical assignment solving with reviews in plenary. Group work is not compulsatory, but recommended.

Learning outcome

Students have a basic overview over the Norwegian legal system. The students should acquire a good understanding of basic legal method, hereunder interpretation theory and technique for solving cases in practice. The students should become familiar with the main features in the Norwegian constitution and legal system, hereunder the legislation process, the division of tasks in governmental bodies, and the relationship with the EU and the EEA, as well as human rights. The students should furthermore become familiar with the main features of the courts' procedures. The course should form the necessary basis for further legal courses at NMBU.

  • Examiner scheme
    Answers are evaluated by a group of examiners consisting of the teacher and external examiners. A random selection of candidates is evaluated individually by all examiners, and becomes the basis of an evaluation conference where a common level of evaluation is established.
