About this course
The subject of Idea Development and Entrepreneurship focuses on the theoretical and practical aspects of developing new business ideas and establishing a company. Students will learn how to generate and evaluate different ideas, develop a business model, choose the right company form and establish a business within Norwegian laws and regulations. Through this online course, students will have the opportunity to develop skills in creative thinking, problem solving and decision making, and to understand what is required to succeed in a new business.
The online course is divided into the following main parts:

- Business models
- Entrepreneurship
Learning outcome
Knowledge:
The candidate
- can perform a design thinking process
- understands what a business model is and what components must be in place for a sustainable business model to succeed
- knows the various steps in the process of developing and establishing a business
- is familiar with the most important laws and regulations for starting a business in Norway
Skills:
The candidate
- can generate many different ideas and solutions to a problem and look at things in new and unexpected ways
- can understand and empathize with others and think about how the solutions they develop will affect users
- can develop and test hypotheses a business model is built on
- can apply various tools and techniques to generate and evaluate business ideas.

- has an understanding of different business models and how to choose the one that best fits their own idea and goals.
- has an understanding of the various challenges and risks associated with starting a business and how to handle them.
- has an understanding of how different markets and industries affect the business model and how to adapt to them.
