About this course

Lectures: Mapping by drone. Image matching. Digital elevation models - Fabrication, use and accuracy, Orthophoto. Production of FKB data, standards and quality control.

Airborne Laser Scanning: Introduction with History, Principles and Applications. Basic introduction to instruments, signal properties, distance measurement with laser, geometric conditions, sources of error, operational conditions, sensor orientation, system calibration and strip adjustment. Classification. Applications in terrain modeling, forestry and engineering.

Exercises: Producion and analysis of height models. Mapping by drone. Quality assurance of geodata.

Learning outcome

Airborne laser scanning: Basic introduction to instruments, signal properties, distance measurement with laser, geometric conditions during recording, sources of error, operational conditions, sensor orientation, system calibration and strip adjustment. Applications in terrain modeling, forest and engineering applications.
