In my professional practice and academic writting I am interested in positive social change.

In my role as 'dissemination advisor' at Skatteforsk (Centre for Tax Research) my aim is to promote the Atlas of the Offshore World with change-makers in the Global South. The Atlas is a groundbraking database that provides rigorous and useful information for activists, policy-makers and anyone interested in fostering tax justice.

In my research I discuss the way in which people interested in positive social change can attempt the seemingly impossible task of promoting positive social transformation.

In three articles and one introductory chapter, I explore social transformation in the Mayan rainforest in Mexico. I engage with institutional theories, discourse analysis, critical political economy, and a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to understand how local communities interact with the state and market forces when appropriating natural resources, constructing political identities, and global value chains. I expect to defend my thesis in winter 2024-25.
