Iver Frimannslund is an associate professor at the Department of Building and Environmental Technology at NMBU. His main fields of research are building physics, environmental loads and photovoltaic (PV) systems.
His PhD focused on snow challenges in PV systems, utilizing an interdisciplinary focus to investigate the impact of snow on PV systems, design considerations in arctic climates and snow load mitigation on building roofs. This work is continued in the research project FME Solar, and through the revision of the international snow load standard ISO 4355.
Iver teaches in building physics courses at different levels, covering topics such as heat and moisture transport, building envelope design, building energy use, retrofitting and renewable energy production.
