Tuition fees - or not?

Students from the EU/EEA or Switzerland do not have to pay tuition fees. Students from the rest of the world however, must either pay tuition fees or be on a scholarship.

Students not required to pay tuition fees

Students from EU/EEA or Switzerland will NOT have to pay any tuition fees to attend our studies at NMBU.

This means that you can study for free with us if you;

  • Are from the EU countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
  • or from EEA; Iceland and Liechtenstein. Switzerland also, as they are part of the single market.
  • are an exchange student from NMBU's partner universities.
  • were admitted to your study program before 2023.
  • are studying in Norway with scholarships through one of the following organizations; Students at Risk (StAR), NORPART, NORHED, The Fulbright program

Students required to pay tuition fees

Students from the rest of the world, that do not fulfil any of the above requirements, will have to pay tuition fees when studying at NMBU.
