I am a Chilean Biochemist from the Faculty of Chemist and Biology from Universidad de Santiago de Chile, and PhD in Natural Sciences specialized in Biotech and Applied Immunology from the joint doctorate program between Universität Greifswald and the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institute, Germany. Since the very beginning I was interested in studying fish immunology, as I enjoy the challenges of working in this field. Since 2011 until now, I have worked in different projects related to the identification and functional characterization of the trout and salmon immune system and responses. In the last years I have been working with fish vaccination and how environmental cues and stimuli (season, photoperiod, nutrition, feed ingredients, pathogens) modulate immune responses of salmonids. Altogether drove me to the great topic I am currently working on at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, being that chrono-immuno-nutrition – the what, how and when matter - .
