My research focuses on understanding the extent and dynamics of present, and former ice masses, in the Arctic and pan-North Atlantic. I undertook a PhD at the University of Worcester which investigated plateau icefield glaciation, in the Southern Uplands of Scotland, during a period of abrupt climate change (Younger Dryas; ~12.9 -11.7 ka BP).

Following my PhD, I held short-term lectureships, until I moved to the University of Aberdeen to work as a Post-Doctoral Researcher. Here, my research focused on the Greenland Ice Sheet and reconstructing millennial-scale tidewater glacier behaviour. I joined the University of Hertfordshire, in 2018, as a Senior Lecturer in Physical Geography as well as Head of the Academic Support Unit for c. 3500 students. I moved to NMBU, in 2021, as a Quaternary Geologist.
