Anura Arembage is an industrial PhD candidate at REALTEK, NMBU. His PhD research, "Cognitive Analytics of Gravity- and Pressure-Driven Membrane Separation," focuses on developing AI and ML-driven monitoring and adaptive control systems for autonomous and self-optimizing membrane filtration in remote and resource-limited areas.
He holds a Master’s degree from NMBU (2018), specializing in membrane filtration, with a thesis on optimizing biofilm membrane bioreactors (MBBRs) for decentralized wastewater treatment.
Before his PhD, he gained over six years of industry experience at DOSCON AS as a Project Engineer, working on process optimization, performance monitoring, and the application of monitoring and control systems in water and wastewater treatment.
His industry expertise and academic background provide a strong foundation for his PhD research, bridging practical applications with advanced data-driven methodologies in membrane filtration.
