Academic calendar for the study year 2024/2025

Autumn Semester 2024

August 

  1. 5-9 Introduction week for international students
  2. 10-11 Registration weekend for new students
  3. 12 Semester starts
  4. 12 August Block through 30 August
  5. 14 Deadline for August Block registration and withdrawal
  6. 14 Deadline to apply for special needs facilitation for August Block examination
  7. 16 Matriculation Ceremony for new students at 13:00. No classes from 12:00

September

  • 2 August Block examination
  • 3 Autumn Parallel through 6 December
  • 5 NMBU 10-year Jubilee - No classes from 11:30
  • 15 Deadline for Autumn Parallel registration 
  • 15 Deadline for semester registration/semester fee/confirmation of educational plan 
  • 15 Deadline for Thesis registration (withdrawal not possible after 15 Sep)
  • 15 Deadline to apply for exchange studies spring 2025

October

  1. 1 Deadline for registration for re-examination (konte) in January 2025  
  2. 1 Deadline to apply for special needs facilitation for Autumn Parallel, re-examination (konte) and January Block examinations (new applicants only)
  3. 10 World Mental Health Day. Mental Health Awareness week at NMBU 7-11 October
  4. 16 Career Day

November

  • 1 Deadline for Autumn Parallel withdrawal 
  • 1 Deadline for re-examination (konte) in January 2025 withdrawal
  • 1 Deadline to apply for transfer to another study program
  • 22 Submission of degree thesis opens in WISEflow

Desember

  1. 1 Deadline for January Block registration
  2. 9- 20 Autumn Parallel examinations
  3. 15 Deadline for Thesis submission (if the deadline falls on a Saturday / Sunday or public holiday, the following working day will be the new deadline)

Please note: Democracy hour Wednesdays in the parallel periods: 12-14 (no classes)

If the above deadlines fall on a Saturday, Sunday or other holiday, the dates are changed to the following working day.

Spring Semester 2025

January

  1. 2 and 3 Re-examination (konte)
  2. 6 Semester starts
  3. 6 January Block through 24 January
  4. 8 Deadline for January block withdrawal
  5. 27 and 28 January Block examination
  6. 29 Spring Parallel through 9 May

February

  1. 1 Deadline for Spring Parallel registration
  2. 1 Deadline for semester registration/semester fee/confirmation of educational plan 
  3. 1 Deadline for Thesis registration (withdrawal not possible after 1 Feb)
  4. 1 Deadline to apply for exchange studies autumn 2025/spring 2026

March

  1. 1 Deadline for registration for re-examination (konte) in May
  2. 1 Deadline to apply for special needs facilitation for Spring Parallel, re-examination (konte) and June Block examinations (new applicants only)

April

  1. 1 Deadline for Spring Parallel withdrawal  
  2. 1 Deadline for June Block registration
  3. 1 Deadline for re-examination (konte) in May withdrawal
  4. 14 Easter Holiday through 21 April (no classes)
  5. 22 Submission of degree thesis opens in WISEflow

May

  1. 1 Deadline for June Block withdrawal     
  2. 1 Labor Day - no classes
  3. 12 - 23 Spring Parallel examinations
  4. 15 Deadline for Thesis submission (if the deadline falls on a Saturday / Sunday or public holiday, the following working day will be the new deadline)
  5. 26 and 27 Re-examination (konte)

June

  1. 1 Deadline to apply for transfer to another study program
  2. 2 June block through 27 June
  3. 9 Whit Monday - no classes
  4. 13, 20 and 27 June block examinations
  5. 27 End of academic year
