About

Universite de La Reunion is a French university on the island of La Reunion, in the heart of the Indian Ocean. It is the first and only European university in the Indian Ocean. It was founded in 1982, and has grown steadily both in terms of student population, course offerings and partnerships with local, national and international institutions. The university currently has over 19,000 students, of which almost 1,000 are international.

    The agreement applies to data science, civil engineering and food science (master's level only)

    Length of stay

    1 semester.

  • Who can apply

    For all Erasmus agreements, you must have completed 60 credits before your stay abroad begins.

  • Language of instruction

    French. You must have good knowledge of French, and be able to document a minimum of B1 (minimum 4 in French 2 from VGS or equivalent). You must also be able to document a minimum of B1 in English.

    Before the start of each academic year, an 8-day Français Langue Etrangère (FLE) integration
    campus is organised for international students enrolled on exchange programmes at Reunion Island
    University. The aim is to prepare you for life on Reunion Island, a French-speaking island, and to enable you
    to take part in the courses taught in French at university (French at its university level).

  • Semester timing

    Autumn semester: August - December.

    Spring Semester: January - July

  • Tuition Fees

    Erasmus students must pay the semester fee and register for the semester at NMBU for the semester they are abroad, but then do not have to pay the semester fee or other tuition fees at the partner university.
