The VR-Lab hosted a one-day Capacity Building Seminar on June 26, 2024, as part of the Waterline project. Funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe program, this event was a key feature of the summer school organized in collaboration with the Waterline project partner at NMBU, the Water Research Group at the Faculty of RealTek.
Bringing together professionals and associated partners from 11 European countries, the seminar aimed to enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing in the field of water innovation across Europe. The participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas, build competencies, and develop innovative approaches to integrating VR, AR, and XR technologies to address major challenges in water management.
The program included a variety of lectures, interactive demonstration sessions, and testing of VR applications, conducted by leading experts in VR technology, innovation, and educational infrastructure management. These activities facilitated dynamic discussions fostering an interdisciplinary and comprehensive approach to addressing the complex challenges in the water sector.
The seminar highlighted the importance of incorporating new digital visual solutions to foster collaboration among academia, industry, government, and civil society, driving innovation in the water sector.
The WATERLINE project, a three-year initiative funded through the European Union’s Horizon Europe HORIZON-WIDERA-2021 program, aims to establish a stronger European network of higher education institutions specializing in water. Through this project, partners strive to drive impactful research, strengthen educational programs, and facilitate knowledge transfer in water management.
