University in Freiburg is among Germany's oldest universities and was founded in 1457.
Freiburg is a city with just over 200,000 inhabitants and is a very popular student city. The city is located in the border area between Germany, Switzerland and France and has a pleasant climate.
The agreement applies to:
-Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources Please note that courses from the programs Msc Renewable Energy Engineering and Management and Msc Environmental Governance are unfortunately not available for exchange students.-Department of Economics
-Department of Physics.ATTENTION! The Faculty of Physics focuses on theoretical physics and you should be strong theoretically if you apply for an exchange here. Subjects are offered in, among other things, classical physics, quantum mechanics, experimental physics, atomic physics, nuclear physics and particle physics.
Two places for one year or four places for one semester at the Department of Physics
Three places for one year or six places for one semester at the Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources
Two places for one semester at Faculty of Biology
Two places for one semester at Faculty of Economics
All Erasmus+ agreements require the completion of 60ECTS prior to a stay abroad begins.
German (all courses on bachelor level are given in German) A minimum level of B2 is required.
Several courses given in English on master level.Bachelor students can only take courses on bachelor level.
Autumn semester: October - February.
Spring semester: April - JulyErasmus students must continue to pay for NMBU’s semester fees, plus register with NMBU whilst they are on exchange. However, it is not necessary to pay any types of fee at the partner university. At the University of Freiburg every student has to pay a "social security fee" (around 80 euros) every semester.
