Limits of class size:15

Course frequency:annually

Teaching and exam period:This course starts in Autumn parallel. This course has teaching/evaluation in Autumn parallel, .

About this course

Simulation related to the performance of buildings including simulation of: daylight in buildings, heat and moisture (HAM) transport, thermal bridges and energy use in buildings. The students will work both individually and in groups with a given case for each simulation software. The students will submit a report for each simulation program/evaluated case.

Learning outcome

The students should be able to apply building simulation software to analyze the performance of buildings. Further, they should change the design of the building/construction to improve the performance. Insight into the simulation software’s limitations and the resulting conclusions which can be drawn from the simulated results is essential in the course. The students should master the report-format for documenting the performed analysis.
