Handelshøyskolen er glad for å kunne tilby ett nytt emne, nemlig KI - kunstig intelligens fra et virksomhetsperspektiv. Emnet undervises på engelsk, derfor engelsk beskrivelse nedenfor.

The NMBU School of Economics and Business are happy to offer a new course: Artificial Intelligence (AI) from a businesses perspective. This course will be taught in English.

Artificial intelligence (AI)

This new subject will give students insight into how AI can be strategically integrated into various business functions and provide an understanding of the ethical, legal and organizational challenges linked to the implementation and use of AI in practice.

The course consists of three parts:

The first part will be dedicated to the technical dimension of AI. The students will learn to work actively with AI, they will test its capability for data analysis and will learn to create their own AI applications (e.g., chatbots, AI agents).

The second part will focus on AI inside organizations, and how AI may increase productivity, improve decision making processes, and enable new business models. Potential limitations of AI and negative effects of AI use in organizations will also be discussed.

The third part will focus on societal impact of AI, and consequences for the labor market, ethics, and inequality and sustainability.

The purpose of incorporating these three perspectives is to examine AI as an emergent technology that has great potential but also poses several challenges for individuals, organizations, and society overall.

Nicolay Worren, who is responsible for the new course, remarks:

“Practically every major business firm is now in the process of experimenting with new AI solutions to improve quality and productivity. This course will equip participants with the skills and knowledge that they need to support AI implementation inside firms and understand the wider implications of AI for organizations and society.”
