Agricultural Robots For New Sustainable Crop Productions Systems with:

Hans Griepentrog
Hans Griepentrog
Professor PhD, Dipl.-Ing. university of Hohenheim, Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Germany.
Agricultural Robots for New Sustainable Crop Productions Systems.Agricultural robots can significantly reduce labor costs due to the automation effect. However, there is also a huge increase in new possibilities of how to modify and optimise crop production systems. Robots can help to mitigate future challenges regarding e.g. climate change and biodiversity.

Can agtech innovation dissolve goal contradictions with:

Per Frankelius
Per Frankelius
PhD, is Associate Professor (Docent) in Business Administration at Linköping University (Sweden).
He has been involved in a wide range of agricultural projects and is now the process leader of the initiative “Agtech 2030” in Sweden focusing on agricultural innovations. A main goal is to build up an innovation environment and activate a mobilisation for tomorrow's agriculture. The focus areas include sensors, digital technology, artificial intelligence and the Internet of things - but also business development. Agtech 2030 consists of several private and public organizations with the joint vision to contribute to the societal challenges related to agriculture and green industries
Jonas Engström
Jonas Engström
Researcher and senior project manager at RISE, Research institutes of Sweden
Jonas Engström is deeply involved in the digitalization of agriculture. He is also head of Testbed Digitalized Agriculture which is an innovation arena for agtech, mainly focusing on digitalization, automation and electric farm machinery in crop production. Jonas has a master´s degree in agricultural engineering from SLU with a focus on precision farming, and a master's degree in industrial engineering and management from Linköping University with a focus on computer science and GIS.After studies, he worked at Lantmännen with logistics and system development for seven years before being employed at JTI - the Institute of Agriculture and Environmental Technology in 2011, which in 2017 merged into RISE.Jonas has been working on projects at the intersection of agriculture and digitalization since 2011 at RISE (and its predecessor JTI). Examples of projects are driver support systems for eco-driving, precision farming, autonomous machines, machine development, control systems, support systems for farmers, logistics and data integrations between different stages of a supply chain, etc.In the last couple of years Jonas focus has been on a national infrastructure for agricultural data, electric and autonomous farm machinery, battery swap system for work machines.

Preliminary program
About the seminar

This is the 4th seminar that we together have arranged in Herning linked to the Agromek Fair www.agromek.com. We had a similar seminar in 2014, 2016 and 2018, and planned to have a seminar in 2020, that unfortunately had to be postponed due to the pandemic. This was also why we waited so long to announce this seminar. Anyway, finally we are able to meet each other physically face to face again! This is fundamental in order to get good networking and improved cooperation!

For new participants; NJF (Nordic Association of Agricultural Science) https://nordicagriculture.eu/  is an association open for Nordic and Baltic researchers, teachers, advisors, manufacturers and other people interesting in agricultural science and innovation, and this seminar highlights especially agricultural engineering for a sustainable future. Key words can be seen in the figure below. EurAgeng is a European Association within Agricultural Engineering in Europe, please visit www.eurageng.eu for more information.

The reason why we have linked these seminars to the agromek fair, is mainly the golden opportunity for networking. People from companies as well as universities and research institutions & advisory service from the Northern and Baltic countries have joined the former seminars also with presentations. In order to stimulate to this networking through exchange of knowledge and experiences, we also may accept presentations at an early stage in your project as well as ideas and solutions for improved common education and advisory services and not only final project-based presentations. After the seminar, the presentations will be gathered as PDF proceedings and be downable for all participants if accepted by the presenter. You can choose if you want to hold an oral presentation or a poster presentation.

When you click on the ‘registration’ site, you will get the possibility to tag off for kind of participance, and you may also upload your abstract now or later (but within deadline). When register, please fill in a title of your abstract (so we have an idea  about your abstract and later presentation). The acceptance of abstract will follow shortly after deadline. You will also get a discount if you are a member of NJF, EurAgEng or if you are a student.

About the program, please click on the ‘program’ site.

Together we aim to solve the challenges for a sustainable agriculture.

We wish you all warmly welcome to the seminar!
